Boozy Baked French Toast for New Years Day Brunch

Last year we accidentally hosted a New Years Brunch -- the night before, as we toasted with round after round of champagne and prosecco, we invited all our friends to brunch the next morning at our house, and they all showed up. Luckily, we had a baked french toast in our freezer leftover from a party we went to at Dinner Savvy (one of those places where you assemble meals in advance to cook later.)

The French Toast was amazing -- lots of milk, eggs, thick beautiful bread slices, and booze. You can't forget the booze.

This year we hosted New Years Brunch on purpose and I wanted to do baked French Toast again; it's the perfect meal after a late night on the town. Enter Smitten Kitchen's Boozy Baked French Toast which was exactly what I was looking for.

I assembled two pans of the French Bread using Challah Bread from Fresh Market and Bailey's and Cointreau for the boozy part.

I made them on New Years Eve before going out to celebrate, so everything was ready for the morning of the 1st -- I just had to preheat the oven and pop the pans in for half an hour.

Guests brought delicious sides and Matt tackled the Mimosas and Bloody Marys to help complete the meal.

Hope everyone else started out the New Year in an equally delicious way!
